Hospice United

We’re workers from Local 5160: Community Hospice and McClure-Miller Respite House, with the goal of furthering trade unionism, solidarity, and equity!

About Us

We are Nurses, LNAs, Social Workers, Chaplains, Bereavement Coordinators, Volunteers Coordinators, Cooks, and Admin Support in both the McClure Miller Respite House and the community-based team of UVM Home Health and Hospice.

Together we aim to:

1) Secure full trade union rights, including the rights to exclusive recognition and collective bargaining, for all employees who are eligible for membership.
2) Advance the economic, social, and political well-being of the membership.
3) Improve employment standards and patient care at UVM Home Health and Hospice and to ensure the sustainable growth of quality Hospice care across the region.
4) Encourage mutual understanding and cooperation among the membership through transparent and democratic processes.
5) Promote the effectiveness and quality of the institution in which our members work.
6) Promote democracy, equity, education, solidarity, and trade unionism in the society at large.
